Career Day 2026: Thank You to Our Community Partners

March 14, 20261 min read

Our second Career Day of the school year was an inspiring experience for students and presenters alike.

Professionals from across multiple industries stepped directly into classrooms to share their knowledge, answer questions, and give students a clear look at what it takes to succeed in today’s workforce. These were not surface-level presentations. Students heard honest conversations about preparation, discipline, credentials, advancement, and long-term opportunity.

Students explored careers in a wide range of fields, including:

• Finance
• Human Resources
• Arts and Communications
• Education
• Military service including the Navy and Marines
• Politics and Public Service
• Manufacturing
• Environmental careers
• Health and Human Services
• Real Estate
• Universities and postsecondary pathways

Career Day is an important part of the GAPS strategy to expose students to real career possibilities and help them make informed decisions about their futures. Through direct interaction with professionals, students gain insight into industry expectations, education requirements, and career opportunities that exist beyond high school.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the professionals who took time from their schedules to invest in our students. Your willingness to share your experience makes a lasting impact.

This event also reflects the power of collaboration. GAPS, Junior Achievement, and the Gary Community School Corporation worked together to make the day possible. Student ambassadors helped guide the experience and represent their school with confidence.

Two Career Days have been held this school year, representing multiple industries and connecting hundreds of students with professionals from across the region.

The conversations that began in those classrooms are planting seeds for future careers, leadership, and opportunity. More opportunities are still ahead for our students.
